Journeying Together.
Finding Renewed Strength Through Genuine Connection.
Counselling that makes room for your story, your strengths and what matters to you.
Hello, I’m Melanie Nash, an Australian Counselling Association Level 2 member with a Master of Counselling and many years of experience supporting people through challenging times.
I offer compassionate, personalised counselling sessions to help you explore your struggles, consider what may be underlying them and find practical steps forward.
Life can feel overwhelming at times. You may be navigating change, experiencing relationship difficulties, or needing space to work through what’s on your mind. Together, we can take the time to understand your experiences and what matters to you, and make a plan that aligns with your values, champions your strengths and brings out the gold within.
My approach
I am passionate about meaningful change through collaborative conversations, psychoeducation and connection. I draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) and Narrative Therapy, adapting my approach to your needs and preferences.
These approaches can help us explore patterns in your thoughts, emotions and behaviours, develop practical skills, recognise your strengths and consider new perspectives on your experiences. Psychoeducation can help you better understand what you’re experiencing and how to apply helpful strategies in everyday life.
I also offer relationship counselling, neurodiversity counselling, grief and loss counselling, and trauma-focused therapy. Creative approaches can be included alongside talking when these suit you. No artistic experience is needed.
My experience
My experience spans school wellbeing, community services, pastoral care, the Victorian justice sector and private counselling. Across these settings, I have supported children, young people, adults and families through challenging circumstances.
My work has included individual counselling, working with family members both separately and together, supporting young people with emotional and social difficulties, and helping people navigate relationships, grief, trauma and significant life changes.
I have also developed and facilitated wellbeing programs, therapeutic art activities and practical resources to help people better understand themselves and their relationships. These experiences shape the warmth, creativity and practical focus I bring to counselling.
Christian counselling
I am also qualified in Christian pastoral care counselling, with a background in ministry and theology. If you wish, we can explore faith, questions and doubts, or hurts experienced within churches and faith communities.
I welcome people of all faiths and none. Your beliefs and experiences will be respected, and you decide whether faith is part of our conversations.
